Bio

Joel Carter is a 9-year-old rising hip-hop artist with a passion for music that started as soon as he could form sentences. He is currently in 3rd grade, and his favorite subject is P.E.

Joel’s journey began to take shape in December 2024, when he met Gwen at the National Black Doll Museum in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. When asked, “What are you good at?” Joel confidently replied, “I know how to rap!” That moment sparked a series of opportunities that helped launch his artistic path.

In January 2025, Joel and his brother were invited to perform at an Art of Poetry event, where Joel debuted his first original song, “Wonderfully Made,” created alongside his family. Since then, he has continued to grow his catalog with songs like “Best Life,” “Motivated,” “Frederick Douglass,” “Summertime,” and “Dreams.”

Joel has performed at several notable events, including the National Black Doll Museum, Fall Jam Classic 3, his school talent show, multiple Juneteenth celebrations, and BAMFest in Boston—captivating audiences with his energy, confidence, and message.

Most recently, Joel auditioned for The Search and was selected as a Top 45 contestant, advancing all the way to the Finale among 24 contestants—a major milestone in his young career.

With a growing passion for music, performance, and even beat-making, Joel is just getting started. He continues to collaborate with his family, bringing creativity and heart into every track he creates.

Joel Carter is a young artist to watch—booked, busy, and building a powerful future in hip-hop.
